Chalet Tontine - Les Houches

Chalet Tontine is a bright demi-chalet with breathtaking views of the Aiguille du Midi and Mont Blanc range. The chalet is located at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac, in the Les Houches area. Chalet Tontine provides everything you need to spend a fabulous holiday in the Chamonix Valley.

The chalet is a spacious 120m2, with a wood burning stove, open plan double height living area, 2 double and 2 twin bedrooms and modern sauna. Outdoors- a private terrace and garden, backing on to woodland.

Ground floor :

Ground floor sauna, shower and WC newly installed for this season. In this area is also a washing machine and dryer.

Hallway provides storage for coats skis, & boots, wall-mounted state-of-the-art boot dryer and warmer.

Double bedroom with standard double bed and ensuite bathroom (shower). Electric wall mounted radiator

1st floor: Spacious open plan double height lounge/kitchen area, standard double bed bedroom, patio widows and bathroom.

The living area has a large leather corner sofa, large smart tv a dining table and and an efficient wood burning stove. Secondary underfloor heating is also on this level.

Large patio windows allow access to the private balcony area with garden table and chairs. Steps down into the garden lead to more garden furniture complete with gas BBQ.

The second bedroom is located on this floor overlooking the front of the property. In this room is a double bed, wardrobe and chest of drawers.

A full size bathroom is on this floor, with full bath, overhead shower and wc.

2nd floor: From the lounge a wooden staircase leads to second floor which has a mezzanine area with office work space and 2 single beds in a cozy niche. The single beds are suitable for children due to restricted head clearance.

A large bedroom with a further 2 single beds (which can be zipped together to create a double), wardrobe and velux window. Electric Wall mounted radiator.

The property has sufficient space outside to park 2-3 cars. The superb location offers magnificent views of the Aiguille du midi and Mont Blanc range and Chamonix valley from the lounge, terrace and garden area.

This property is ideal for families and small groups of friends.

The entirety of the demi-chalet is available for guests.

The chalet is located at the foot of Mont Blanc and is a 15 minute walk (4 minute drive) from Taconnaz train station and is 6 km from Chamonix .

Walk down the hill to the bottom of route du pont and you will find the bus stop which travels the entire length of the valley. The Rocky Pop hotel at the end of this road features cosy bar and restaurant, arcade games.

The Super U super market is a short walk from the chalet or less than 3 minutes by car. Further into Les Houches you will find the boulangeries, pizzeria and each Wednesday the farmers market.

Les Houches offers something for everyone, restaurants, a micro brewery, ice Outdoor skating rink (winter), 2 Ski Lifts : Bellevue and Prarion Ski lifts which operate in both winter and summer season. The tourist is open daily and provides an up to date list of all the activities for each day.

Travel time is approx 1hour from Geneva (allow more time during peak seasons) 5 min to Bellevue lift, 8 min to Chamonix.

Easy few hundred meters walk down to Chamonix bus stop.

Parking for 2 cars at the property.

Chalet Tontine is on a slight hill, therefore during winter time snow chains maybe required if the road has not been ploughed.

Please follow the EU driving standards.

The cul de sac is ploughed during heavy snow fall, the snow is dumped at the end of the cul de sac just beyond the chalet. Please park cars at the front of the house and not at the side to allow snow plough access.

Kitchen :

The kitchen is equipped with induction hob, electric oven, fridge, dishwasher, crockery and utensils. There is a cafetiere and a coffee machine which requires Nespresso pods.

Office Space:

On the Mezzanine there is a desk space and lamp with a monitor and a keyboard.
